One of our incredible clients recently came to us after having a terrible boudoir experience with another studio in the Phoenix area. What was supposed to be an empowering, confidence-boosting moment turned into something that left her feeling judged, overlooked, and incredibly let down.

A Boudoir Session Gone Wrong

When this client booked her first boudoir shoot (not with us), she was excited but understandably nervous. Like many women, she was stepping outside her comfort zone, trusting the team to help her feel beautiful, safe, and empowered.

Instead, things started going wrong the moment she sat in the makeup chair.

“The makeup artist spent almost the entire time gossiping and talking badly about another client. It made me feel so uncomfortable — like, what would she be saying about me after I left? I felt invisible, like I was just part of her day, not the main character in mine.”

When her makeup and hair were finished, she was hopeful things would improve once the shoot began. But unfortunately, it didn’t get better.

“The photographer had really low energy. She barely talked to me, didn’t hype me up, and just seemed like she didn’t want to be there. It made me feel awkward and self-conscious. I couldn’t relax. I couldn’t enjoy the moment.”

To make things worse, she was told she’d receive her photo gallery within a couple of days — but it ended up taking two weeks. And when it finally arrived…

“The photos were okay. I liked them, but I didn’t love them. The whole experience just tainted everything. I didn’t feel powerful when I looked at them — I just remembered how uncomfortable I felt the entire time.”
